This July, join the nation in celebrating the 75th Birthday of the NHS on Wednesday 5 July by support of York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity.

We are asking you to get involved anyway you can. Maybe hold a tea party in your local community centre, ask colleagues to wear blue for the day to celebrate the NHS or host a collecting tin in your restaurant or cafe.

You can take part on 5 July, the 75th birthday of the NHS, or any day that week. Your fundraising could help to support families who use the Special Care Baby Units, patients who receive cancer treatment  or help to improve our elderly care wards with activities and dayrooms.

We appreciate that not everyone can hold a tea party or a cake stall, so here are a few ideas of how you can get involved, whether you are an individual, community group, school or business.

  • As a restaurant or a cafe, you could ask for a £1 donation on each bill throughout your chosen day
  • Schools and offices could ask everyone to wear blue for the day and donate £1 to do so or hold a cake stall
  • You could hold a Big Tea Party at your home, in a community centre or place of worship
