Choose from a 10 or 20 mile walk from Bridlington or Bempton to Filey along the stunning coastal path with a race against the tide in Filey Bay.

The 20-mile route starts from Bridlington seafront, you will walk along Sewerby Cliff Tops and around Flamborough Headland taking in stunning Thornwick Bay with its crystal-clear water.

You will then continue to Bempton where the 10-mile route starts and continue to Speeton before dropping down on to the beach in Filey Bay. There will be five miles of sand walking and you will have to get across before the tide gets in; can you beat the tide?

There will be support and safety marshals along the route and you will be greeted by the charity team, family, and friends on Filey Brigg for a well-deserved finish.

Your entry fee covers:

  • Full safety support and guidance from our walk marshals
  • Real time location tracking- smart phone needed
  • Refreshments at the start and finish
  • Toilets on the route

Yes, you can, if you keep the dog on the lead. Please be respectful of not only other walkers, but you will walk through the Bempton RSPB Reserve which is home to thousands of birds.

Can I walk as a team?

Yes. We would love more of you to join us. You can add members to your team as you wish through the online registration system.

Can we fundraise as a team?

Yes. Simply set up a team page when you register and add your members. Your fundraising will be combined from everyone’s pages, and you can add offline donations too.

Yes. We welcome families with children of over 12 on the 20-mile walk and children over 8 on the 10-mile walk. Please be aware of your children’s abilities.

Will there be transport provided?

Only safety transport will be provided. There are public buses and trains in both Bridlington, Bempton and Filey. The train stations are around a further 20 minutes’ walk and bus stops are closer due to their routes. There is only a train option at Bempton, and this is located 1.4 miles from the start of the walk. We will provide you with timetables and maps, but we highly recommend arranging lifts which can be nice for family members to be there at the end to see you finish.

What time do the walks start?

The 20-mile walk will start around 7:30am to give you the best chance to ‘Beat the Tide. The 10-mile walk will start around 10:30am from Bempton Cliffs.

Is there parking?

Yes, there are car parks at Limekiln Lane in Bridlington, Bempton RSPB Nature Reserve and Filey Brigg.

Are there toilets on route?

Yes. There are public toilets at both start points, the end and at Thornwick Bay cafe for a donation.

Can I buy a charity t-shirt?
